When Ms. Knope Came to Washington

November 16, 2012 By WHC Insider

For the third time in the history of the televised image, Vice President Joe Biden appeared on screen in a semi-fictional universe. While Leslie Knope may have the traditional reaction when it comes to being in the presence of VP Biden, we know it’s all in fun for the councilwoman from Pawnee, Indiana.

While the encounter has been built up throughout the show’s inception with Biden being Knope’s idol, only during the latest season are we seeing the lingering effects of when the crew from Pawnee came to visit Knope’s fiance, Ben (Adam Scott). But as we all know too well in the Beltway, a meet-and-greet is more of a favor-of-a-favor x300 than the greetee would like to ever admit.
