Montgomery Burns on the Fiscal Cliff

December 5, 2012 By WHC Insider

Mr. Burns on the Fiscal Cliff (via Fox)

It’s unfair to say The Simpsons have a monopoly on politics. Leading up to the election this year, we’ve had the unusual pleasure of Mr. Montgomery Burns–billionaire and owner of the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant–discussing his political rhetoric and theory with us.

Whether it’s been Burns’ endorsement of Romney or the consequences of Homer’s vote in 2012 (2008 was less kind), The Simpsons’ creative team don’t let their parent company’s politics stop their jabs. But the recent slate of online-only spots are definitely a creative high point for the show and prove they’re still capable of punching in the same weight class as The Daily Show and Colbert Report.
